Lebanese casino selects Midas PRO6

Casino du Liban lies 22km north of Beruit in Jounieh, Lebanon. Two new Midas PRO6 consoles were added to its audio inventory after a dining and entertainment space revamp.

Jounieh’s Casino du Liban – widely know as one of the Middle East’s premier casinos – recently added two more Midas PRO6 live audio consoles to its sound system.

Tony Khoury, the Lebanese casino’s chief sound engineer, took delivery of his first Pro6 system in 2009 for the venue’s 1,800-capacity theatre space. Following his recommendations Dubai-based NMK Eletronics was enlisted to install two new desks as part of an upgrade to the sound system in the 600-capacity the casino’s dining and entertainment space,

La Salle Des Ambassadeurs now features two PRO6 systems, one at FOH and one on monitors. A DL431 mic splitter has been added to the monitor system. Meanwhile both monitor and FOH consoles have DSP engines, DL252 digital snakes – incorporated to optimise mic audio – and a DL451 audio system modular I/O with both analogue and digital cards to ensure maximum flexibility.

“The choice of four compressors on each input channel provides nice gain reduction and the gate is also very helpful where there are many instruments miked up. I also like the Klark Technik graphic EQ and delay effects,” says Chicco Hiranandani, NMK business development manager

Midas brand development manager Richard Ferriday adds: “We are delighted that Casino Du Liban are continuing their investment in Midas, and our new competitive pricing now makes that even easier. Another important consideration is that the PR06 is a modular, upgradable system, which means that the casino has the option to upgrade to full 88 input PR09 capacity if their requirements increase in the future.”
