Lawo claims first fully integrated audio network in China

The project – realised by Lawo China in cooperation with the client and Lawo’s Chinese partner, Rightway Audio – has as its centrepiece a Lawo Nova73 HD router and seven DALLIS interface systems. The Nova73 HD router offers up to 8,192 mono channels, Dolby E compatibility and clock-synchronised switching to video frames as well as internal DSP. A grand total of 1408 inputs and outputs are available via the system’s 22 MADI interfaces. Meanwhile, the seven DALLIS frames offer a total of 392 remote controllable inputs and outputs for the local connection of microphones, monitors and playback devices.

“The choice was made in favour of our Nova73 HD router and DALLIS I/O systems because, beside all the other quality features of the products, the importance of reliability and system stability are paramount,” Lawo AG public relations manager Wolfgang Huber told II. “The decision to opt for Lawo has been based heavily on these security requirements which are met by the STAR_ architecture of the Nova73 HD – this provides redundancy options for all nodal, active components. The in-built flexibility of the Nova73 HD routing system allows for fast and easy online reconfiguration and extension of the system without interruption of operation.

“In addition, the system’s hot-plug capability enables the replacement of boards during runtime – another good reason for deciding on Lawo. We are very proud that we have been chosen for this installation and we see this as one of the major references that will help to support the Lawo brand in China.”
