PLASA London 2013: Cooper Controls to operate under ‘Eaton’

Cooper Controls announced at PLASA London 2013 that it will now operate under the name 'Eaton', as the company looks to capitalise on the wealth of opportunities available from its parent company.

Cooper Controls – which incorporates lighting brands Zero 88, Cogent, DTS and LDR – announced at PLASA London that it will now operate under the company’s umbrella name, Eaton.

Eaton, which is a diversified US power management company domiciled in Ireland, acquired the Cooper Controls family in November 2012. Under the new name, products and brands within the Cooper Controls portfolio will remain the same, “with the same individual customer service,” stressed David Catterall (pictured right), general manager at Zero 88 and Cooper Controls.

With the Eaton name now backing the business and the integration with the global power management company, Cooper Controls feels there will be increased opportunity to develop products using research and mechanisms that the Eaton portfolio has to offer.

“There are a lot of synergies between the two names,” continued Catterall. “This also increases sales opportunities for the company. Just in the last 12 months since the acquisition we have landed several projects worth several hundred thousand euros that wouldn’t have happened without the backing of Eaton.”
