IMSTA FESTA returns to London to celebrate music technology

IMSTA has invited A-list producers, engineers, and songwriters to deliver keynote presentations and master classes at the SAE Institute London on June 1

IMSTA FESTA will return to the SAE Institute London on June 1 for a celebration of music technology, bringing together the music-making community and music technology companies for one-on-one product demonstrations, music industry panels, master classes, song reviews, prizes, and more.

IMSTA has invited A-list producers, engineers, and songwriters to deliver keynote presentations and master classes. They include Grammy-winning mix engineer and record producer Andrew Scheps, Grammy- and Brit-nominated songwriter and producer Jake Gosling, Grammy-winning mix engineer James Auwarter, award-winning songwriter Jonny Amos, and others.

All music creators are welcome, including professional and semiprofessional musicians, songwriters, producers, and audio engineers, as well as music students and educators. Exhibiting companies will offer plenty of raffles and giveaways, and admission is free with registration.

12PM – Keynote Speaker Jake Gosling

Gosling is a multi-platinum selling, double Grammy and double Brit Award nominated music producer, songwriter, remixer, label manager and publisher best known for his work with artists Ed Sheeran , Shawn Mendes, The Libertines, One Direction , Paloma Faith, Shania Twain and KSI.

He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays keys, drums, accordion, melodeon, percussion and more, but making ‘beats’ and playing with samples is what he is best known for. Gosling has his own studio, Sticky Studios, in Surrey, UK, and runs an indie record label, Goldun Egg Records.

1:30PM – Immersive Audio: Master Class with Andrew Scheps

In this master class, Andrew Scheps will cover the state of object-based audio production, as well as the challenges of integrating a new workflow into the more than 100-year-old tradition of channel based playback for music.

Andrew Scheps is an American mix engineer, recording engineer, record producer, and record label owner, based in Los Angeles and the UK. He received Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album for his work on Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium.

3PM – A Music Producer’s Pathway to Multiple Income Streams: Master Class with Jonny Amos

This workshop aims to make music producers aware of a variety of ways they could be making money with their skills. The presentation not only explores the compositional and recording rights associated with being a music producer, but also offers an insight into a multi-tiered approach to remote work in the gig economy, sample pack and sample library production work, emerging possibilities within the AI field and creative collaboration.

Jonny Amos is a UK-based songwriter with credits on a variety of independent and major labels. As creative director of The SongLab, he works with both emerging and established talent and helps artists and creators to build strategies for their creative output.

5PM – Mixing: Master Class by James Auwarter

Grammy award-winning Engineer James Auwarter, owner of Coda Room Audio, has recorded, mixed and mastered music across multiple genres. With credits on 32 Grammy- nominated projects, he has worked alongside notable artists such as Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna and more.
