The Germany-based pro-audio specialist opened a new subsidiary in Moscow on 1 December, reports David Davies. Commencing with a bi-national team of five Russian and German engineers, the Moscow office will oversee a raft of MEDIAGROUP projects and help to further enhance the company’s market strategy in Eastern Europe.

Located a few minutes away from Red Square, the 200sqm office incorporates a fully equipped demo studio with AURUS and AURATUS consoles, and a NEXUS routing system. A mid-size CRESCENDO desk is due to be added early in 2010.

Meanwhile, MEDIAGROUP will continue to add to its list of major projects in Russia/CIS, which already includes the high-profile likes of the Moscow International House of Music and the St Petersburg Mariinsky concert hall and OB truck (pictured).

Stephan Salzbrenner, managing director marketing and sales, told II: “By tradition, the MEDIAGROUP has always been a supplier for turnkey systems solutions in pro audio rather than just an out-of-the-box equipment vendor. Currently there is a huge backlog for high-end pro-audio solutions in the former CIS states, mainly in two business areas: theatres/event centres and broadcast. Both are core markets of the MEDIAGROUP. With its Moscow subsidiary, the MEDIAGROUP answers this demand and allows itself to provide the same high standard system solutions in these countries as it does in its traditional Western European markets.”
