The UK trade-only AV, IT and consumer electronics distributor has announced new agreements with Aqualite and Toshiba. Aqualite is an increasingly-well known supplier of IP66-rated weatherproof displays, whilst the Toshiba contract encompasses the new Stasia and Regza series of LCD business displays.

Specified and priced to help resellers make the most of the summer sports calendar, the Aqualite range of IP66 rated weatherproof displays comprises 32, 42 and 52-inch size formats, with a choice of either LED or conventional backlighting. All Aqualite screens are fitted with anti-reflective glass, concealed USB and SD inputs, twin digital and analogue tuners, a waterproof cable entry system and waterproof speakers that make them suitable for hospitality and signage applications.

Kim Menen, the director of Aqualite, commented: “Midwich is a great choice to distribute the Aqualite range and this deal will undoubtedly strengthen our brand and increase awareness for a whole raft of applications. The product is not only a simple solution for the up-and-coming sports calendar, but also a digital signage revenue stream for the same clients in the future. Our three size formats are feature-rich at what we believe is an affordable end-user price point and we already have further exciting new products in development.”

Meanwhile, in the other new agreement, Midwich has signed an exclusive contract with Toshiba to supply the new Stasia and Regza (pictured) LCD business displays. Featuring a 3-year warranty as standard (Stasia) and 1-year warranty as standard with the option to extend by two years (Regza), the new product series are said to “combine the performance and aesthetics of a consumer television with the reliability and warranty of a commercial display”. Features include digital HD picture quality, Resolution+, Active Vision, Dolby volume, a hotel mode to block access to certain settings, and USB cloning for large-scale installations in hotel and hospitality venues.

Lee Baker, business manager at Midwich, remarked: “We are delighted to secure an exclusive on these new business displays from Toshiba. These products are ideal for business, education, leisure and hospitality applications, and Toshiba offers a full reliability refund guarantee on the Stasia range. In the event of a product failure, Toshiba will repair the display for free and give the customer a full refund.”
