Maverick to distribute InFocus Mondopad

Maverick has secured the rights to distribute InFocus's supersized tablet - the Mondopad - in the UK.

UK distributor Maverick has signed an agreement to distribute the InFocus Mondopad in the UK, building on the long standing relationship that Maverick has with InFocus for its projectors.

The Mondopad is said to be the first all-in-one giant tablet designed for business-class video conferencing and collaboration. It is a 55-inch full HD wall tablet that combines multi-touch collaboration applications with cloud-based video conferencing. Unlike traditional video conferencing, according to Maverick, it requires no up-front infrastructure investment and works with all SIP and H.323 standards-based end-points and many proprietary video conferencing platforms across normal Internet connections. Its720p HD video camera and sound-bar are designed specifically, says the company, to improve the audio/video quality of conferencing and to eliminate conference room clutter.

“The scale of opportunity is massive and unique in the market,” said Jon Sidwick, Maverick’s European Director. “With our specialist focus, Maverick is perfectly placed to maximise the potential of this unique and innovative solution which has a place in all markets where multi-location collaboration is required. We will be building a Mondopad training and education programme through our AV Academy brand in order to create channel enablement across a number of our European businesses.”

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to build on the positive and very productive partnership we have with InFocus as their exclusive projector distributor in the UK,” added Mark Tildesley, General Manager of Maverick UK. “With the extended reach we have into other channels through our enterprise and SMB technology sales divisions, Maverick can take the Mondopad to a much wider community of resellers and into new markets where there is real potential for incremental growth.“

Daniel Gibson, Regional Sales Director at InFocus, said that the company is delighted to be working with Maverick. “Maverick has tremendous coverage and an excellent reputation in the European audio visual channel,” he said. “With these qualities and the extended reach it has into other markets via Tech Data, Maverick will enable InFocus to build on the tremendous interest that we have already seen in the Mondopad throughout the region.”
