Lighting training from Artistic Licence

Lighting professionals looking to know more about DMX, RDM, DALI, Colour-Tramp and Art-Net are the targets of a series of free training courses announced by Artistic Licence.

Artistic Licence Engineering has responded to customer demand from lighting professionals and novices alike by adding more training days to its schedule. They are as follows:

Introduction to DMX & RDM (Wednesday 29th June 10am – 4pm)

This training day covers all the basics of the DMX and RDM protocols. Aimed at people who are new to the technology, it will start from the beginning of DMX, explain how it works, how it can be used and will highlight good working practices. The second half of the day will cover the new protocol RDM and show how this will benefit the industry.

Colour-Tramp (Thursday 7th July, 10am – 4pm)

Artistic Licence Colour-Tramp control system is specifically designed to enable the user to program and control two- and three dimensional lighting arrays, and will allow students to discover why Colour-Tramp is much more than just a lighting controller and gain a full insight into what can be achieved with this powerful tool.

DALI (Wednesday 5th October, 10am – 4pm)

DALI training was the first of the Artistic Licence Engineering Training Days and has been so popular that extra dates have been added and an explanatory manual produced.

The increased need for integration of the DMX and DALI protocols in architectural lighting control requires a deeper understanding of these protocols, and others on the market. In this session, DALI and DMX protocols will be fully explained to demystify their use. In addition, Artistic Licence Engineering’s range of DALI converters, including Rail-DMX-DALI, Rail-DALI-DMX, Rail-PSU-D4 and DALI-Scope, will be explored along with the new Rail-DMX-DSI converter.

For those who were unable to attend the earlier DALI Day – or those who did but need a refresher – a DALI Manual outlining some of the Day’s training can be downloaded from the Artistic Licence website.

Art-Net (Wednesday 26th October, 9.30am – 1.30pm)

The Art-Net Ethernet control protocol was originally invented by Artistic Licence and published, royalty-free, to the public domain over 10 years ago. Since then over 130 manufacturers have subscribed to its use and incorporated it into their product ranges. Its popularity continues to grow and this half-day training session will provide the ideal opportunity for technicians and end users to become familiar with all its functionality.

The training will encompass Art-Net and its uses, plus details on the full range of Artistic Licence Engineering Art-Net products.

All Artistic Licence Engineering Training days are free of charge and take place on a first come, first served basis at the company’s head office in Harrow, London. The series of training days is sponsored by company founder and managing director of Artistic Licence Integration, Wayne Howell.

Places can be reserved through the Artistic Licence website.
