Better connected

Kwon: “We want to choose our own battles.”

Barcelona is a long way from South Korea, but for high-speed fibre-optic DVI link provider Ophit the journey is worth it to meet customers old and new at ISE.

According to Jason Kwon, a director at Ophit parent Foreseeson, the company has chosen to specialise in two key areas of the AV market: control and command centres, and simulation.

Kwon explains that this allows the company to better focus its resources and also ensure greater stability of sales in two sectors that also have high barriers to entry. “We want to choose our own battles,” he said.

An important aspect of attending ISE is to ensure that Ophit stays abreast of the latest technology developments. For instance, Kwok has been following developments in USB-C interfaces. The aim is to be ready for technologies to support product commercialisation, but “we don’t want to be too early,” he said.

Ophit’s product line consists of video signal converters, splitters, extenders, switchers, multi-viewers, scalers, and matrix switchers.
