Latest issue of Installation magazine has the X factor

Available now, the new April/May edition looks ahead to ISE 2022, includes a 15-page pro audio special, and looks at sustainability and security in AV

So, barring a new lockdown-inducing Covid variant, or – God forbid – a catastrophic escalation of the war in Ukraine, it looks as if ISE 2022 is finally upon us. With just over two weeks to go until the pro AV event of the year kicks off, the latest edition of Installation gets excited with a six-page preview of what is a mouth-watering prospect for AV heads.

Elsewhere in this issue, a special section looks at pro audio’s recent progress, and, encouragingly, it certainly seems that technology is triumphing over adversity in what has been a tricky couple of years. The 15-page section also celebrates the differences between pro audio and PA, and includes industry commentaries from Shure, LEA Professional and Genelec.

Our April/May edition also looks at AV’s green credentials in a sustainability progress report – and thankfully there are plenty of encouraging signs about AV’s eco progress – and the impact cyber gangs are having on AV security.

In addition, we interview Sharp Business Systems UK managing director Stuart Sykes, who discusses a renewed focus on the future workplace for visual solutions; Absen senior vice president global business development, Ruben Rengel, who, answers questions on the company’s environmental policy (and also generously contributes to our sustainability progress report); and Clear-Com president Bob Boster on being a “casual” Arsenal fan, his hands on approach to work, and his positive outlook on life.

Additional industry commentaries this issue come from Barco, Axis Communications, ZeeVee and Lightware Visual Engineering.

Finally, alongside our usual round-up of the best installations and updates on recent appointments, we report from the Belgium leg of the Crestron Next Road Trip, checking in with executive director Robin van Meeuwen and colleagues; and AWE Europe’s recent Expo open day, where hot residential AV kit from the likes of Bowers & Wilkins and Sony – including the first trade showing in Europe of the latter’s 8K Mini LED panel – was unveiled.
