This year’s IBC, taking place at the Amsterdam RAI from September 13, is set to showcase the ongoing convergence between AV and broadcast technology – much reported upon within these pages, and also the subject of our latest free eBook, a joint publication with sister magazine TVB Europe which will be available to register for on August 29.
Whilst IBC remains very much a broadcast technology expo, a growing number of AV exhibitors and visitors is set to grace the halls of ISE’s old home, particularly to showcase and view the fast-moving virtual production (VP) technologies and solutions. Indeed, IBC itself is pushing the show to AV professionals, with its AV Speed Pitch Event in particular – a “golden opportunity to showcase your expertise directly to major AV buyers… your chance to forge valuable partnerships and secure lucrative contracts”.
In addition, the AV User Group event and the IBC Talent Programme should provide excellent platforms to connect with fellow AV professionals, share ideas, and build lasting relationships. “IBC2024 isn’t just about the here and now. It’s about equipping yourself with the knowledge, connections, and strategies to thrive in the ever-evolving AV landscape,” the organisers enthuse. Installation will certainly be in attendance to make connections and see friends old and new.
Given the above, it’s perhaps unsurprising that our latest edition of Installation – available at IBC as well as via print and digital subscriptions and via our website, mailer and LinkedIn page – is concentrating on converging tech, with three in-depth features touching upon the key AV/broadcast overlaps, alongside a preview of IBC.
