The Install Awards 2018 concluded with the presentation of three Company Excellence Awards and two new inductions into the Installation Hall of Fame.
QSC was presented with the Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Company. In his citation, Installation editor Paddy Baker praised QSC’s evolution beyond its audio roots to become a systems company. “It’s QSC’s vision and willingness to adapt that we’re saluting with this Outstanding Achievement Award,” he said.
The final of presentation of the evening, the Hall of Fame Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Individual, went to Jon Sidwick of Maverick. The award was presented by Neil Hartigan, recently retired general manager for UK and Ireland at NEC Display Solutions.
“Without his drive, determination and entrepreneurial skills I don’t believe that Maverick would be where they are today,” said Hartigan. “He is a man with a mission and he will not give up until he has achieved his goals.”
Industry friends and colleagues of Sidwick paid tribute by video.
Three awards were presented in the Company Excellence category. Sahara Presentation Systems picked up the distributor award for the second year running, and NEC Display Solutions received its second award of the night, after also winning Projection Product of the Year.
