Havells Sylvania has new European HQ

Professional lighting solutions company Havells Sylvania has opened a new European headquarters in London.

Havells Sylvania, which designs and manufactures professional lighting solutions, opened its European headquarters in London last week. The company says that the move aligns with its global strategy to better serve its European customers and become more agile in a dynamic international market and high-growth developing markets.

According to Havells Sylvania, this decision underscores the company’s vision to consolidate Havells Sylvania’s position as one of the leading global designers and suppliers of lighting products. Set in a global lighting market characterised by an increasing demand for energy-saving and eco-friendly light sources which the company says is forecast to reach $24 billion by 2015, Havells Sylvania believes it is well-positioned to cater for the European market out of this strategic location.

The London EMEA headquarters will also serve as a Centre of Excellence for Havells Sylvania, enabling it to strengthen its communication avenues to the international market.

“This is an exciting time for the company as we base ourselves out of London,” said Anil Gupta (pictured), joint managing director, Havells India. “It is one of the most important and vibrant cities in Europe, which provides unhindered access to the international markets. It will provide us with a strategic advantage, acting as a hub that will allow us to smoothly address both the Asian and European markets, catering to a larger customer base.”

Havells Sylvania was created in 2007 when Indian parent company Havells acquired Germany-based Sylvania. The company now has a turnover of more than $1.2 billion, with 40+ sales offices and over 8,000 employees in over 50 countries.
