Genelec sponsors Installed Sound segment of Pro Sound Awards

Active speaker manufacturer Genelec has just been confirmed as the latest brand to sign up in support of the Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the Ministry of Sound on 19 September 2013.

Active speaker manufacturer Genelec has just been confirmed as the latest brand to sign up in support of the Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the Ministry of Sound on 19 September 2013.

The lobbying period for the awards remains open until the 14 June. Genelec will be sponsoring the three awards in the ‘Installed Sound’ segment of the event: Team of the Year; Permanent Installation Project of the Year; and Temporary Installation Project of the Year.

The Awards will cover the spectrum of pro-audio, recognising excellence in the four sectors of Installed Sound, Live/Touring, Studio, and Broadcast Audio, along with four special awards for Rising Star, Marketing Campaign/Initiative of the Year, Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement. Genelec joins Sennheiser, DiGiCo, Martin Audio, Sony Professional, Focusrite and Fineline Media Finance in the line-up of sponsors.

Genelec studio monitors have been a fixture of the industry for many years. The latest of these is the new M Series of bi-amplified active monitors, launched at Prolight + Sound. Reflecting the company’s increasing focus on environmentally friendly products, the M Series employs a Natural Composite Enclosure manufactured from renewable cellulose fibre-based UPM ForMi. Standby power consumption is less than 0.5W, following the company’s decision to conform to the ErP directive on standby power.

In recent years, the company has extended its range with solutions for residential, and commercial and architectural installations.

“It’s great to have a name like Genelec supporting the Installed Sound category of the Pro Sound Awards,” said Paddy Baker, editor of Installation. “I’ve lost count of the number of installations I’ve visited, in sports stadiums, conference centres, theatres and the like, where I’ve seen a pair of Genelecs in the control room. The brand’s reputation goes before it in the world of AV installation.”

“Genelec has long enjoyed a good relationship with PSNEurope and its sister publications,” said Genelec’s Lars-Olof Janflod. “Its award scheme is a great indicator of the industry’s dynamism and strength and with a growing share in the installation market through our 4000 series of products we are proud to sponsor the installation category – we can’t wait to see all the innovative projects. Onnea kaikille (good luck everyone)!”

More information about the awards categories, eligibility and so on, is available on the lobbying page.
