The new feature will also allow visitors to hear sound at higher levels than previously possible at ISE.
Available in a range of sizes from 27 to 40sqm, all 12 rooms are fully sound-proofed and air-conditioned, and are easily accessed from Hall 12 of ISE.
Integrated Systems Events MD Mike Blackman said that the organisation had been aware "for some time" that audio exhibitors would like to demonstrate their systems at higher sound levels than the showfloor policy permits. He expects the rooms to appeal to both large-scale loudspeaker manufacturers and companies in the residential sector.
"Audio demo rooms have been a big feature of InfoComm shows in the US, where they allow consultants and contractors to assess the sound quality of new commercial audio products in a very precise way," he observed. "But these days, the sound levels of home theatres are equal to, if not greater than, those of some public spaces. So, whether an ISE attendee's interest is in commercial installation, rental and staging, or home theatre, we believe our audio demo rooms will have something to offer them."
