CEDIA partners with CISCO Academy for BCU courses

CEDIA has linked up once again with Birmingham City University to offer members the opportunity to become a CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) at a discounted rate.

CEDIA has linked up once again with Birmingham City University to offer members the opportunity to become a CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) at a discounted rate.

Led by CISCO certified trainers, the course is run as a blended learning programme combining online study with workshop time at Birmingham City University in its specialised CISCO labs. The nine-month course allows for deeper learning and extensive hands on practice and culminates in the CCNA certification examination. This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge and skills required to install, operate and troubleshoot a small-to-medium size enterprise branch network.

“With the majority of systems in our world converging onto an increasingly complex IP network, there has never been a better time to bring enhanced core IP skills into your CI business,” said Matt Dodd (pictured), CEDIA’s education chair. “Exclusive to the custom installation industry, this course ensures you will be learning alongside your peers who have a similar perspective on networking and IP. It’s a high quality and very flexible training option.”

To provide candidates with one-to-one teaching and close guidance through the nine months, the course only has the capacity for limited candidates, to which four places have already been filled. CEDIA members receive a discounted course fee of £899.00 and non-members can attend the course at £990.00.

In a separate development – and as part of its continuing commitment to meet the growing demand for professionals with TCP/IP knowledge – CEDIA has announced two further dates for its three-day Networking Theory and Practice Course.

These events will run in Birmingham from 5-7 October and from 6-8 December 2011. CEDIA members receive a discounted fee on the cost of the course at £456.00, while non-members are welcome to attend at the price of £627.00.
