Barco makes core leadership changes

Barco has announced the departure of its chief financial officer, Carl Peeters, with Ann Desender (pictured), currently VP finance and control, taking over effective September 2016. Desender will also succeed Peeters as a member of Barco’s core leadership team and report directly to the CEO.

Desender joined Barco in 2008 and has been leading Barco’s global finance team since 2010. Prior to joining Barco she held management positions as corporate director of finance and reporting at Unilin and was a senior audit manager at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte.

Peeters joined Barco in 1987. He had roles initially in business development, before his first senior finance role as CFO of BarcoNet in 2000. He was appointed group CFO of Barco NV in 2010. He will leave Barco at the end of September 2016 to take on the Group CFO responsibilities at Greenyard Foods.

Eric Van Zele, CEO of Barco and Jan De Witte, CEO designate, commented: “Carl has been a long term senior manager with Barco and throughout his career has played an important role in the success of Barco. We wish to thank Carl for his many years of solid contributions and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. With Ann Desender we capitalise on strong internal finance capabilities and leadership talent. Ann and Carl will work together to ensure a smooth transition over the summer.”

The company also revealed that sales are up by 4.5%, Van Zele explained: “This semester Barco again posted encouraging gains in terms of orders, shipments and profits while the company continued to strengthen its global leadership position in the three core businesses.”
