Yamaha Dante products to support AES67 standard

Yamaha has announced that its Dante products will support the AES67 audio-over-IP interoperability standard, which will allow Yamaha equipped with Dante networking capability to communicate with Ravenna and other audio networks.

Dante audio networking capability has been included in a total of 24 Yamaha products since 2012, including digital mixers, signal processors, power amplifiers and other pro audio devices.

Yamaha plans to update Dante-equipped products with device and Dante firmware updates that will add AES67 support, beginning with the CL/QL series digital mixing consoles and R-series I/O units later this year.

“Since the introduction of broadcast-oriented features in CL/QL firmware V3, CL/QL consoles have been increasingly adopted by broadcast users, which has led to numerous requests for Ravenna network compatibility,” said Yoshi Tsugawa, director of Yamaha’s pro audio business unit.

“We are always delighted to respond to customers requests which lead to an improved working environment and AES67 support will allow Dante and Ravenna devices to work together in broadcast systems that offer unprecedented flexibility and efficiency.”
