Leyard wins big at 2018 Olympic Winter Games with video wall deal

Leyard to provide LED video walls for NBC’s studio coverage of 2018 Winter Olympics

Display manufacturer Leyard is to provide LED video walls for NBC’s studio coverage of 2018 Winter Olympics (starting February 9th) 

NBC Olympics, a division of the NBC Sports Group, has selected Leyard to provide fine pitch LED video walls for its production of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games, which will take place in PyeongChang, South Korea, from February 9 – 25, 2018.

NBC has selected to use the Leyard’s TWS Series, described by the firm as a ‘versatile ultra-fine pitch LED video wall displays’, which are available in 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 millimetre pixel pitches

The easy to use, lightweight and interactive displays feature a 16:9 aspect ratio that ensures every pixel pitch is designed to exactly achieve Full HD, 4K or 8K resolutions. Leyard TWS Series displays can also be configured in any video wall array to meet the widest range of application requirements.

The announcement was made this week by Michael Sheehan, coordinating director, NBC Olympics.

“We’re incredibly excited about the Leyard technology we will be using for our coverage of the PyeongChang Games,” said Sheehan. “As was the case with NBC Olympics’ coverage of the Rio Games, Leyard displays will help us take our world class scenic design to a higher level both visually and artistically.”
