Christie’s laser projection solutions are wowing visitors with vivid and lifelike visuals at two popular attractions in the new Yinji Animal Kingdom located in Xinmi, a county-level city under the administration of Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province.
A 570,000 square metre animal theme park comprising six themed areas and 19 large-scale attractions, Yinji Animal Kingdom showcases more than 3,000 rare animals in various ecological environments that resemble their natural habitats. It combines cultural tourism with state-of-the-art visual technologies to offer a new and exciting experience to visitors, including stunning projections on a 45-metre-high ‘Tree of Life’ sculpture, and a 350-seat 4D theatre. Both projects are delivered by Wincomn Technology using Christie Crimson Series 3DLP laser projectors, and Christie D4K40-RGB pure laser projectors.
Considered the centrepiece of the theme park, the Tree of Life sculpture features a massive trunk measuring 26 metres in diameter, adorned with intricate animal carvings by talented artists. The towering structure serves as a musical fountain during the day, and transforms into the canvas of a projection mapping show titled ‘The Animal Kingdom’ when night falls.
A total of eight Christie Crimson Series projectors are strategically stacked and blended to complement the projected contents, achieving bright and flamboyant visuals on the tree’s uneven surface. Crimson projectors are equipped with proprietary Christie BoldColor Technology for big, bright and intensely colourful images, as well as omnidirectional capabilities.
Wincomn deployed four Christie D4K40-RGB projectors at the 4D Theatre, lighting up a curved screen measuring 30 metres in length and eight metres in height for the playback of the computer-animated film, Rio. The theme park wanted bright and colour-accurate projections to accompany motion and atmospheric effects, providing a highly immersive and realistic 4D experience to audiences.
“As the projection systems integrator of two of the most popular attractions in Yinji Animal Kingdom, we have spared no effort to deliver bold, colourful visuals that elevate the visitor experience to new levels,” said Tony Chen, general manager, Wincomn Technology. “Christie’s Crimson Series and D4K40-RGB laser projectors, with their high performance, ruggedness and reliability, are well-suited for projections on the Tree of Life sculpture and in the 4D Theatre respectively.”
April Qin, director of sales, Enterprise, Christie China, added: “We are delighted that Wincomn has innovatively deployed the Christie Crimson and D4K40-RGB projectors at the new Yinji Animal Kingdom in Zhengzhou. Both models have been used extensively for numerous projects across China, and we are heartened that an increasing number of cultural tourism and entertainment venues have embraced our tested and proven laser projection solutions to deliver unforgettable visual experiences to visitors.”
