Adding value to what might otherwise be perceived to be increasingly commoditised products developed as something of a theme at ISE 2015 – and it is certainly central to the thinking of Toshiba, who showcased the company’s new digital signage software, Business Vision.
“Business Vision is available in a variety of configurations – standlone, networked and cloud-based – to allow us to address the widest possible range of customer needs,” said Tim Matthews, product manager, B2B and soundbar Europe. It is designed to be the perfect companion for Toshiba’s existing and future ranges of displays, providing the ability to control, schedule and deliver content with flexibility in a variety of configurations and to manage device information.”
With the software initially available on an Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) unit allowing installation on the majority of Toshiba’s professional signage range, users will, said Matthews, quickly and easily be able to control every aspect of their signage solutions, from the content and its layout to settings and administration.
Its content management system supports a comprehensive range of formats to remove the need for an external device. Video, images, and text can all be arranged to create completely customised signage, as well as other content types including social media widgets, internet sources and RSS feeds.
Behind the scenes, Business Vision offers a detailed level of display and device information, enabling users to manage their signage with ease. From a single remote location, administrators can check the status of downloads, storage and usage, and more, to identify threats before they develop, and maintain full operation. With the advanced version, this device history and feedback can be logged and saved. Additionally, this version also allows for the creation of system rules, including user administration levels and other permissions across three roles, and the control of material by display location.
