digiLED ZEUS awarded Made in Britain status

Certification recognises the UK manufacture of digiLED’s power-saving system for large LED screens, now deployed across more than 360 installations worldwide

digiLED has been awarded Made in Britain status for ZEUS, its power-saving system for large LED screens. The status is granted by Made in Britain, the not-for-profit organisation that represents British manufacturers, and allows qualifying products manufactured in Great Britain or Northern Ireland to carry its registered trademark.

ZEUS was developed by Tom Mudd, head of technical at digiLED, and is manufactured at the company’s headquarters in Dorking, Surrey. It is now deployed across more than 360 installations worldwide, including stadiums, arenas, immersive spaces, corporate sites and attractions.

The Made in Britain mark is reserved for products manufactured in Great Britain or Northern Ireland that meet the organisation’s eligibility requirements, including substantial manufacturing processes and the use of UK labour in making the finished product. digiLED says ZEUS eliminates power consumption when LED screens are not in use, while using a soft-start process when they are switched back on.

Graham Burgess, founder and CEO of digiLED, said: “digiLED is founded on Britain’s engineering roots. Now more than ever we should be celebrating innovations that come out of the UK, especially when they are being built by our own people at our global HQ in Dorking.”

Mudd added that manufacturing ZEUS in the UK allows digiLED to maintain close oversight of quality while avoiding freight and associated carbon emissions.
