The HMP100 Hyper Media Player from Swiss digital signage manufacturer SpinetiX has received the NEC Display Solutions Best of InfoComm Award 2010.

NEC Display Solutions president and chief operating officer Pierre Richer presented the award to Yann Guyonvarc’h, SpinetiX CEO, on 11 June, at a ceremony held on the final day of the annual tradeshow.

SpinetiX donated the $25,000 prize from NEC to the InfoComm Education Foundation and the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) Education Foundation.

“The response to NEC’s Second Annual Best of InfoComm Award competition was overwhelming, and SpinetiX showed its mettle in a strong field of contestants,” said Ashley Flaska, vice president of marketing at NEC Display Solutions.

“This prestigious award directly reflects our product’s innovation, recognition and acceptance in the US and international markets,” said Serge Konter, marketing manager at SpinetiX. “The features that make this product stand out from the crowd are its use of open standards for integration with third-party equipment from top AV companies. These open standards have the benefits of driving down overall system running costs. The player also encompasses high-end functionalities, such as the ability to create videowalls and touchscreens, and the technology is already widely used today across the globe, including several licensed OEMs.”

The award is sponsored and run by NEC Display Solution, and involved online voting over a number of weeks. SpinetiX was then selected as one of five finalists at the show by a panel of judges who spent considerable time in evaluating the products against their criteria.
