Panasonic launches 55in LCD videowall display with 3.5mm bezel

Panasonic has unveiled the new 55in TH-55LFV70 LED-backlit LCD display, an ultra-narrow 3.5mm bezel model for videowalls.

Panasonic has unveiled the new 55in TH-55LFV70 LED-backlit LCD display, an ultra-narrow 3.5mm bezel model for videowalls, which promises high picture quality and high reliability.

Available from November, the TH-55LFV70 has been designed with the industry’s narrowest bezel, allowing configurations of powerful and natural images with minimal intrusion from screen borders. The display is also capable of continuous 24/7 operation and supports portrait installation.

The TH-55LFV70 series features a failover system: if the main video and audio signals are interrupted, the system immediately switches to alternative signals, making it ideal for critical applications in control rooms and surveillance centres. Inputs include two DVI-D ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, DIGITAL LINK, and USB.

Enrique Robledo, marketing manager at Panasonic, said: “Because of the in-plane switching (IPS) panel, the display offers a wide viewing angle and high picture quality. This is supported by an anti-glare surface treatment and brightness levels of 700cd/sqm. “The new calibration software within the LFV70 supports third-party sensors, ensuring there is no colour variation between displays.”

The TH-55LFV70 allows for quick and easy installation. Panasonic’s DIGITAL LINK uses HDBaseT technology to send video, audio and control signals through a single cable; additionally, the optional rigid frames can be quickly aligned using magnets.

Robledo added: “We’ve been listening to customers who wanted a virtually seamless videowall and are pleased to be able to deliver this with the new LFV70 display. It’s a great addition to Panasonic’s existing range of videowall displays complementing the LFV5 and LFV50 ranges well.”
