Lightware unveils new UK team and suite of products

Lightware has announced the appointment of a number of AV specialists following a new recruitment strategy.

Felix Knight has been appointed managing director of Lightware UK with responsibility for sales and all aspects of technical support in the UK and Ireland while Mohamed Malis is now sales manager with a remit to direct, develop and execute Lightware’s sales strategy in the UK and Ireland. Dave Knight, who joined Lightware in August 2017, is appointed director of finance and human resources, Graham Thornhill is Lightware’s office manager and Phillip Meese has been recruited as new technical support engineer.

“We’re proud of our reputation for reacting to the AV industry’s needs with market-leading products and technologies,” commented Knight. “The only way to maintain this position is to bolster our team with fresh, new talent and leadership, to enhance our support service even further and to introduce innovative AV equipment that the industry will continue to covet. These are, indeed, exciting times for Lightware.”

In addition the company has launched the Lightware Training Centre – a training programme that will provide high quality sessions on a range of technological topics, notably Lightware’s proprietary systems. Customers can now enrol on specialist courses of interest at the Training Centre and subscribe to future events with a click.

Lightware is also introducing a new suite of products to market. VINX is a CATx based AV over IP extender for 1GB networks, extending HDMI video, connecting either via a direct CATx cable connection or through a Gigabit Ethernet switch. The optimal delivery distance can reach up to 100m with minimal latency and the maximum supported resolution is 3,840 x 2,160 @ 30Hz with 7.1 audio. Up to 15 devices can be paired using DIP switches or hundreds can be paired via the embedded web surface. LDC also includes the Video Wall Wizard to manage gap and bezel compensation while cropping and scaling to adjust for individual videowalls.

The HDMI20-OPTC-RX/TX220-Pro is a fully HDMI 2.0 compatible optical extender pair that’s designed with rental and stage applications in mind. This and the MX2-8×8-HDMI20-Audio matrix switcher are capable of splitting the HDMI 2.0 signal to adapt compatible projectors with two HDMI input ports that can rebuild the full 4K video from two halves.

The new HDMI20-OPTJ-TX90 and RX90 optical fibre extenders are fully HDMI 2.0 compatible and can transfer Full 4K UHD video with embedded audio to 300m over one MultiMode fibre cable. These devices have robust, solid aluminium casings, providing excellent cooling and safety and maximum reliability. The chassis has loops for velcro belts to fasten the extender to virtually anything and has an SC optical connector and port saver, fixed HDMI and USB tail-cables.
