ISE 2014: MuxLab to launch HDMI over IP extender

MuxLab is set to highlight its HDMI over IP Extender at ISE 2014. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of connectivity solutions that allow CCTV and AV equipment to be connected via Cat5e/6 copper twisted pair in a structured cabling environment.

Specialising in the design and manufacture of connectivity solutions that allow CCTV and AV equipment to be connected via Cat5e/6 copper twisted pair in a structured cabling environment, MuxLab is set to highlight its HDMI over IP Extender at ISE 2014.

The Extender allows an HDMI source to be connected via any Ethernet LAN, thereby allowing AV broadcasts to be set up and changed without the need to install a dedicated cabling system.

The kit includes two units: HDMI over IP Encoder and HDMI over IP Decoder. The HDMI Encoder converts an HDMI bitstream into IP, allowing it to be transmitted over an Ethernet LAN. The HDMI Decoder, meanwhile, converts the IP packets back to the original HDMI bitstream for playback via an HDMI display.

The units support multicasting and broadcasting and up to 16 transmitters/200 receivers. PoE is also supported, and 1080p HDMI signals can be extended up to 330ft (100m). They reduce the need for dedicated AV matrix switches and are accessible via any existing LAN connection in applications such as meeting and event broadcasts, training and education, digital signage, digital video surveillance and monitoring, and video conferencing streaming.
