Vivitek has announced the release of free updates to its NovoDS digital signage solution that are available to both new and existing users.

The major updates, which include a People Counting widget, are designed to assist businesses in increasing public safety measures, the company stating that digital signage solutions are becoming an increasingly important tool in helping to maintain social distancing requirements in public and office spaces.

Holger Graeff, general manager, Vivitek EMEA, said: “The importance of effective digital signage has been magnified in the post pandemic world. It is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to keep individuals and large groups informed, updated and advised. With its unmatched ease of use, Vivitek’s NovoDS is ideally suited to this task, as users do not need specialist IT skills or training to add or amend content, or to manage it. The new upgrades, especially NovoDS’s compatibility with a people counting camera, makes it an invaluable communication tool as stores, restaurant, schools and workplaces start to open up again.”

In addition to the people counting widget, the updates include background music on playlists, social media integration, video playback, and a one year free trial of NovoDS Cloud.

Datapath announces Genetec software integration

Video processing solutions provider Datapath has announced that it has integrated with the software portfolio of security services provider, Genetec. The company announced that it has fully integrated its WallControl 10 management software into Genetec Security Center to provide integrated video wall control.

Genetec is a leading security software and cloud-based services provider based in Montreal, Canada, and its flagship Security Center is a unified IP-video surveillance, access control and ALPR system that manages access control, video surveillance, and automatic licence plate recognition to communications, intrusion detection, and analytics.

“Datapath systems and technology have been deployed into thousands of control rooms and security suites across the world. The ability to deliver content to large scale video walls is critical to functional teams that need to combine information to see the bigger picture and respond to it,” said Matthew Tibbitt, Datapath product manager.

“By combining WallControl 10 with Security Center, we have managed to make life much easier for both Genetec users and administrators. Users do not need to be trained on a new and unfamiliar application, and they are able to do their work and interact with the video wall from a single application.”
