ISE 2014: BrightSign demos 4K, HTML5 and streaming HD

4K and HTML5 support as well as enhanced IP streaming will are central to ISE 2014 for BrightSign. BrightSign XD players upgraded with the new 4.7 firmware as well as BightAuthor 3.7 software are among the ongoing demos at the company's stand.

4K and HTML5 support as well as enhanced IP streaming are the three core themes at the BrightSign stand at this year’s ISE. Among other items, visitors can see landscape and portrait 4K Seiki Digital screens featuring 4K content up-scaled from 1080p using the video engine in the XD player.

The demo is showcasing the picture quality available from 4K screens powered by BrightSign XD players upgraded with the new 4.7 firmware. Announced in November 2013, the new 4.7 firmware and BrightAuthor 3.7 software is free to all BrightSign customers to download.

Also on the stand is a live IP streaming demonstration, showing how 4.7-enabled XD players can now support Full HD video streaming including HLS, SHOUTcast, video streaming in HTML, and playback from head-end real-time encoders.

As an additional feature, a BrightSign XD player acting as an IP streaming server will serve locally stored content files to other players or devices. Video on Demand is the subject of one of the five daily presentation sessions held on the BrightSign booth.

The enhanced HTML5 support features of the BrightSign XD player range are being introduced at ISE and are also the subject of a daily presentation session. BrightSign XD players now offer hardware-accelerated HTML5 rendering.

The new software and firmware releases enable HTML assets to exist on the BrightSign canvas as independent packages, allowing HTML5 to be seamlessly integrated with other content. BrightSign’s HTML5 support also offers the ability to rotate video on screen.

Stand: 8-N250
