d&b KSL makes South African debut

Johannesburg production house Blue Array Productions has acquired line array modules through long-term d&b audiotechnik distributor Stage Audio Works

Blue Array Productions has become the first production company in South Africa to invest in d&b audiotechnik’s SL-Series ecosystem, acquiring 28 KSL line array modules and accompanying D40 amplifiers through Johannesburg-based distributor Stage Audio Works.

The investment marks the latest development in a partnership between the two companies that began in 2009, when Blue Array made its first d&b purchase – a Q-Series system supplied by Stage Audio Works. A subsequent investment in the J-Series followed in 2011.

Blue Array says the KSL investment is driven in part by growing demand from international touring riders that specify the SL-Series, strengthening its position as a supplier for global artists touring in the region.

Kobus Van Rensburg, founder of Blue Array Productions, said: “We started this journey in 2009, and today, investing in the KSL system was the natural next step, offering a level of control and efficiency that is now essential to meet the expectations of modern productions locally and international riders.”

Gustav Barnard, co-CEO of Stage Audio Works, added: “Kobus and his team have a reputation for technical precision, and they’ve been an integral part of the d&b family here for a long time. This latest investment is a testament to a 15-year relationship built on trust and a mutual drive to bring the best possible sound to South African audiences.”
