Shure updates Axient Digital for large-scale wireless audio

Manufacturer has introduced Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point features to enhance wireless audio management across complex venues and distributed productions

Shure has announced a new software update for its Axient Digital Wireless System, introducing Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point features designed to help audio professionals manage wireless systems across broader coverage areas while maintaining reliable performance in complex production environments.

Channel Linking enables users to link receiver channels across compatible Axient Digital receivers, including the AD4Q, AD4D, ADX5D, and ANX4 scalable receivers. Once linked, secondary channels automatically inherit key settings from primary channels – including frequency, transmitter registration, encryption information, and channel naming  – simplifying configuration across distributed receiver networks.

Additionally, the Preferred Access Point feature gives users greater control over ShowLink operation in multi-access point setups, directing supported transmitters to a preferred access point. Nick Wood, associate vice president of marketing and product management at Shure, said: “The platform development aims to give users greater flexibility and control.”

Both features are available now in Axient Digital version 1.6 via the Shure Update Utility desktop application.
