HK Audio has launched two new loudspeaker families, Lunar and Portable Sub, alongside each other.
The Lunar series comprises three loudspeakers with 10in, 12in and 15in woofers, which can be deployed as full-range systems, monitors or as mid/high units when combined with subwoofers from the Portable Sub series. Portable Sub consists of two subwoofers with 15in and 18in drivers, built to work with Lunar as well as HK Audio’s existing Polar Mk2 and Sonar systems.

The two series have been developed independently but are matched to work together, according to HK Audio.
Lunar is aimed at DJs, live performers and professional PA setups. The series uses presets that provide access to sound settings tuned for applications including music, monitor and voice use, intended to simplify setup. It also features a 32-bit DSP with FIR filter and phase correction for what the company describes as precise, dynamic reproduction at high volumes, along with Bluetooth True Wireless Stereo connectivity.
The Lunar series is manufactured in Germany, with wooden cabinets and a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Portable Sub is designed to complement the Lunar series and is also compatible with HK Audio’s Polar Mk2 and Sonar systems. The subwoofers use presets tuned for each compatible HK Audio series, alongside a general preset intended to allow pairing with loudspeakers from other manufacturers.
The Portable Sub models offer 1,400W of peak power and a maximum sound pressure level of 131dB, with integrated DSP technology for impulse response control. An integrated stereo preamp is included to support 2.1 system setups. Like Lunar, the Portable Sub series is manufactured in Germany.
