DisplayNote unveils Launcher v2 software platform

Upgraded version of meeting room software introduces central management portal, customisable layouts and integrated digital signage

DisplayNote has introduced Launcher v2, the latest generation of its meeting room software platform. The updated version is designed to simplify operation, enhance security, and give IT administrators greater remote control across multiple shared spaces.

Building on the original Launcher platform, which offered secure kiosk functionality and multi-platform conferencing support, Launcher v2 adds a modern interface, central management tools, and flexible screen layouts intended to simplify meeting room operation and remote administration.

The redesigned interface offers a simplified user experience, while the customisable home screen enables tailored shortcuts and layouts for specific spaces. A new screen saver messaging feature allows idle displays to show guidance, announcements or branded content, which can also integrate with existing digital signage systems.

According to DisplayNote, the software continues to support Teams, Zoom, Meet, Webex and other major conferencing platforms from a single interface, with calendar integration and security features designed to keep shared PCs locked down between sessions.

Luke McSorley, head of product at DisplayNote, said: “For years, Launcher quietly did its job – it opened up meeting rooms, kept them secure, and helped people start meetings fast. But as workplaces evolved, people started asking for more. They weren’t replacing Launcher – they were stretching it. That told us everything: it wasn’t time to retire Launcher, it was time to rethink it.”

DisplayNote says the update will help IT departments standardise meeting experiences across enterprise networks while reducing on-site support requirements. The new architecture is also designed with AV channel partners in mind, supporting rapid deployment, hardware flexibility and scalable management options.

Ryan McElvaney, head of channel and partner alliances at DisplayNote, added: “We’re giving partners the opportunity to upsell and cross-sell the solutions needed for any room. Clients can use all-in-one systems or complex integrated AV, and still provide a consistent user experience.”

Launcher v2 is available now as a free upgrade for existing users, with all current setups and integrations transferring automatically.
