AVPro Edge launches USB over IP extenders

HEX-UV2 host transmitter and DEX-UV2 device receiver designed to provide extension and routing over long distances for systems with large numbers of endpoints

AVPro Edge has introduced the HEX-UV2 and DEX-UV2 USB 2.0 over IP extension solution for its MXnet Evolution II ecosystem, which is designed to provide connectivity over long distances for systems with large numbers of endpoints.

The company says USB over IP is scalable and multiple HEX and DEX devices can reside on the network. Both devices are PoE compatible, which is designed to reduce the need for external DC power supplies. The HEX transmitter includes a USB-C port for host devices, while the DEX receiver offers two USB-A and two USB-C device ports.

Matt Murray, chief technology officer at AVPro Edge, said: “By leveraging an IP-based architecture, HEX and DEX enables scalable deployments where multiple endpoints can be routed and managed through MXnet’s CBOX/Mentor platform. This approach eliminates the limitations of traditional USB extension solutions, allowing integrators to create dynamic systems with seamless, reliable connectivity across limitless applications.”

The HEX and DEX solution is designed to be compatible with HID devices such as keyboards and mice as well as higher speed endpoints including PTZ cameras, microphones and external storage. AVPro Edge says applications include hospitality, enterprise, medical, residential, education, data centres and command and control centres.

AVPro Edge products are backed by a 10-year advanced replacement warranty.
