According to ISE managing director Mike Blackman, if you think of the ISE show like a magazine, the exhibitors’ stands are the advertising and the Showfloor Theatres are the editorial pages. The aim of these sessions is give the audience informative, educational content – not sales pitches – over a broad range of topics.
This year, a third theatre has been added: the Unified Communications Theatre will be situated in Hall 9, on the edge of the exhibition area for this technology. This joins the Residential Solutions Theatre in Hall 7 and the Commercial Solutions Theatre in Hall 8.
As in 2014, the Showfloor Theatres have been designed by event production and AV rental house Improve. Many will remember the circular theatre filled with plants that the company designed for ISE 2014. Owner Antoinette Wijfells – who is also a director of TEDx – said: “ISE have asked me to design something that is thrilling, enchanting, inspiring and communicative. Too often what is missing from business gatherings is a sense of the natural world, I like to show people that technology is just a tool to
help us achieve what we want as humans on the planet.”
Currently the technology that will be featured in the Showfloor Theatres is being sourced from partners, but it’s clear from the CAD designs reproduced here that the Showfloor Theatres will be a long way removed from the run-of-the-mill seminar spaces that one generally encounters at exhibitions.
All of the sessions are free to attend. There’s no need to pre-register – just turn up and enjoy the experience!
