Multiple industry perspectives on offer on Day 1 

The first day of ISE 2022, now just a few hours away, offers a packed schedule of events in addition to a bustling show floor. From the Opening Ceremony to the Opening Day Keynote and into the evening, there’s no shortage of opportunities to explore and experience many facets of this fascinating industry.

Opening Ceremony: This takes place at 9:55 at the South Entrance. Integrated Systems Events Managing Director Mike Blackman and ISE Board members will cut a ceremonial ribbon to mark the official opening of the show.

CEDIA Education programme: CEDIA’s three-day programme of sessions spanning technical skills, emerging tech, business success and design skills begins at 10:00. The courses are taking place in rooms CC1.1 to CC1.4. Friday sees CEDIA Certification Exams for the Integrated Systems Technician and Cabling & Infrastructure Technician qualifications.

AV Experience Zone: Produced by AVIXA, the programme of Spanish-language sessions targeting retail, corporate, education and hospitality sectors begins at 10:30. The AV Experience Zone is located in Hall 5. 

Control Rooms Summit: With the theme ‘Designing a new critical control room’, the Summit will explore the way critical control rooms are changing, and how the control room community must work together to deliver appropriate and outstanding new models. It begins at 10:30 on the Conference Stage in Hall 5.

ISE Talent Knowledge Summit: Running from 10:30-14:00 in the Projection Dome in Hall 5, this free-to-attend event promises to bring together leading specialists in knowledge and talent management.

Smart Workplace Summit: With the theme ‘Innovations re-shaping the workplace’, the Smart Workplace Summit combines perspectives from the IT industry, facilities management, and AV. It starts on the Conference Stage at 15:00.

Immersive Shows Panel: Presented by the Catalan Audiovisual Cluster, this session aims to showcase the most spectacular immersive shows and events around the globe and present the technologies that make them possible, such as VR, AR, virtual sets and 3D mapping. It runs from 15:00-16:30 in the Projection Dome.

Women In Live Music Panel: Asking the question ‘Where are the Women in Sales and R&D?’, this panel takes place at 16:00 in the Live Events Arena. It will be followed by a WILM networking session.

Museums in the Age of the Metaverse Panel: An impressive panel of industry experts, moderated by Miquel Molina, Deputy Editor at La Vanguardia, will explore some of the issues around digital transformation in the museums and historic buildings sector. Opening Day Keynote: At 18:00 on the AV Experience Zone stage, digital artist Refik Anadol will give a keynote entitled ‘Exploring the Heritage of Tomorrow’. Expect it to cover his digital artworks displayed both inside and outside Barcelona’s Casa Batlló.

Even after the show closes for the day at 19:00, there’s still more to enjoy. The Inavation Awards take place at Barcelona’s Maritime Museum, celebrating the best projects, technologies, businesses and people in professional AV.

And from 21:00 at the Plaça d’Espanya, you can experience I RISE, a projection mapping event created by Barcelona-based Flaix Stuio – exploring themes of hope, regeneration and renewal as the AV industry comes together again after pandemic-induced separation.
