Merging’s Ovation sequencer in use worldwide

On show at ISE 2018, the Ovation audio and event sequencer from Merging Technologies is being used daily for immersive playout in top theme parks, museums, theatres, opera houses, shopping malls and transport and sporting venues worldwide, says the company.

Ovation can use up to 384 audio tracks, handle any file type or sample rate, accept a variety of cue triggers, and manage a huge number of outputs that can be arranged in multi-speaker zones.

It is used with a variety of video playout servers and show control systems and can also be connected to audio consoles and controllers using Eucon, HUI or Oasis protocols. VS3 and VST plug-ins ensure that almost any effect can be added live. 3D panning and snapshot automation can be coupled with a range of plug-ins to embrace binaural and higher-order Ambisonics for VR, AR and broadcast applications.

Another key feature is the ability to mix live inputs with playback, allowing commentary, emergency announcements or stage action to be mixed to a show. A fully programmable user interface with the ability to set up a large variety of interaction rules means almost any show can be programmed in advance, with failsafe scenarios included.

Each Ovation system also comes with Pyramix, a recording, editing and mixing workstation.
