Why getting lost doesn’t have to be an option

Ever wondered how much time is lost by customers, clients or employees trying to find their way around a building? Factor in the frustration and you can see why indoor navigation is such a hot topic in sectors such as retail, healthcare and administrative buildings.

If you want to know what digital indoor navigation is all about and how it could potentially benefit you or your clients, then a presentation on Friday by Yvonne Oscandi, international sales manager of 3d-berlin, a developer of digital interactive wayfinding systems, has the answers.

Using real-life case studies and sharing ideas generated by clients, the presentation aims to showhow indoor navigation can make a big difference.

“A lot of the time, people know they have an issue, but don’t know there is a solution,” says Oscandi, “I want people to see what options there are and then ask whether they or their clients need indoor navigation.”

One example will include the public order office in Karlsruhe, southwest Germany. When someone books an appointment online to apply for a passport, for example, the confirmation email includes a QR code, which can be scanned into a smartphone, to generate a map showing how to get to the passport office.

“I’m keen to get ideas for indoor navigation from the audience,” added Oscandi, “I hope my presentation becomes a two-way interactive event.”

‘Does Digital Indoor Navigation Benefit You?’ takes place on Friday, 12.30-13.00, in the AVIXA Commercial Solutions Theatre (sponsored by Crestron), Stand 8-A470
