Cost-effective NDI in the mix for lecture capture

Lumens’ LC100N simplifies producing, recording and live streaming

The new LC100N CaptureVision Station from Lumens Digital Optics is claimed to be “the first cost-effective dual-channel NDI mixer, recorder and streaming device which integrates with popular learning platforms such as Panopto”, making it ideal for lecture capture.

The NDI IP protocol transmits high-quality, low-latency video over standard Ethernet networks, including multipurpose IT LANs, and gives educators and institutional video producers the flexibility to add cameras, video players and other sources using standard network cable.

Kieron Seth, marketing director, Lumens Europe, said: “Institutions need to document, share and archive the content they produce, whether it’s for judicial undertakings, training, or democratic proceedings. The LC100N simplifies the process of producing, recording and live streaming. The addition of NDI means that the entire production network can be created on an existing LAN, and without any legacy video equipment.”

The CaptureVision range already sells strongly in the education, legal and meetings market. It enables users to produce and switch multi-source productions with minimal training. Besides NDI sources, the LC100N supports SDI, HDMI, IP, USB and XLR audio inputs. Control options include remote web UI, automated and scheduled operation, mouse-driven local control and Crestron integration.
