Bringing broadcast ruggedness to AV

A new HDMI Extender/Receiver Set with HDBaseT Technology for the openGear platform has been launched by Apantac. The combination of HDBaseT and openGear provides the redundancy and reliability for live events as well as mission critical installations.

Apantac’s new HDMI HDBaseT Extender card for openGear (model OG-HDBT-EAPx) transmits uncompressed 4K, 2K, HD, 3D, embedded digital audio, as well as control signals such as RS232 and IR, over a single CatX cable.

The card is front accessible, hot swappable and modular, which combines with existing openGear cards with other functionality such as scalers, converters, multiviewers with HDMI/DVI and SDI inputs and more, in the same 2RU chassis.

Ten of the OG-HDBT-EAPx cards can fit into an openGear frame, and when used with the standalone HDBT-1-R receiver, supports distances up to 100m.

Thomas Tang, president at Apantac, stated: “This HDMI HDBaseT Extender card for openGear gives you all the ruggedness of the broadcast platform, now bought into live events and professional AV. We bring 24/7 robustness and reliability into live events and professional AV.”

Apantac has also launched its new openGear Multiviewer card with HDMI and DVI Inputs here at the show. This complements Apantac’s existing multiviewer card for SDI inputs, the OG-MiniQ.
