Architects interested in exploring the latest trends in audio, visual and lighting solutions for theatres should pay a visit to the ABTT Theatre Show over the next two days.
It’s show time once again for the theatre world at the industry sets out its stall at London’s Royal Horticultural Halls from 15-16 June for the ABTT Theatre Show 2011. The show celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. It’s not too late to pay a visit to see for yourself the latest advances in audiovisual and lighting for the theatre sector. A host of exhibitors will be present and a full seminar programme runs over the two days.

Fibre Optic Systems
Fibre Optic Systems (FOS) will be showcasing products from its range of fibre optic carpets, curtains, lightsources and chandeliers (pictured), to the theatre market on Stand 32 in Lindley Hall. FOS is also using the show as a platform from which to launch the company’s new rental division, FOS Rentals. Customers will now be able to rent lengths of fibre optic carpet and drapes, as well as stunning chandeliers and all fibre optic accessories, for short periods and specific events.

Point Source Productions
Point Source Productions will be promoting its full range of event services which range from the supply of a single piece of equipment to full turnkey solutions. The past year has seen Point Source Productions involved in events such as the Chatsworth Attic Sale for Sotheby’s, screenings of Lawrence of Arabia and Blade Runner for Secret Cinema, and La Soiree on London’s South Bank.
Point Source Productions carries a wide range of hire stock in its equipment hire department, ranging from conventional lanterns, effects and control, to the very latest moving light and creative LED technology, alongside a complementary range of sound, staging and AV systems and a variety of consumables.

White Light
White Light will be celebrating its 40th anniversary by taking two stands at the show. Filling these will be some of the latest LED fixtures, which see LEDs move into the world of framing spotlights rather than just washlights: both the brand new Coemar Reflection LEDko and the pioneering Robert Juliat Aledin spotlights (pictured) will be on show. The Aledin takes the established Juliat profile spot bodywork and adds a white LED source, while the Reflection offers either white or colour mixing LED sources that work with standard Source Four lenstubes.
A wide range of LED washlights and floods will also be on show, including the BB1 and BB2 from i-Pix, the RevEAL Colour Wash and Studio Fresnel, the Coemar CycLite, the JB A7 Zoom and the range from Leader Light – all offering high-output colour-mixing with low power consumption. The non-colour mixing Galaxia LED softlight, which offers a variable colour temperature white light and which is already proving popular with television lighting directors, will also be on display.
For applications where LED isn’t yet the right choice, White Light will have a range of other fixtures on show, including the Coemar Infinity ACL moving beamlight and Infinity Spot moving spotlight, the Juliat Victor followspot plus ETC Source Fours fitted with Rainbow colour scrollers and the VSFX3 optical effect system mounted to the new Robert Juliat effect projector.
White Light will be found on Stands 11 and 31 in the Lindley Hall.
