Tannoy raises in-ceiling speaker performance

Tannoy's latest addition its CMS in-ceiling speaker range promises wider, more even coverage

Tannoy’s CMS 1201DC is a large format in-ceiling loudspeaker device conceived, designed and built to complement Tannoy’s existing CMS range. The latest addition is designed to handle demanding distributed sound applications such as ballrooms, shopping malls, sports halls, airports and other high ceiling installations.

Built around a brand new evolution of the high power handling 12 inch (300mm) Dual Concentric point source driver, Tannoy claims that the CMS 1201DC delivers best-in-class performance, with the most even beamwidth and pattern control over the widest range of frequencies of any large format ceiling speaker.

Achieving new standards of full bandwidth coverage control means that the CMS 1201DC can be specified in distributed designs with confidence and located as efficiently as possible, minimising the number of devices typically required to cover a given area, reducing install time and cost. All Tannoy ceiling loudspeakers can be designed into a wide variety of applications using EASE Address design software. Available to download from the Tannoy website, the software calculates the optimum spacing and performance with the input of some simple parameters.

If you’re travelling to InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas (9-11 June), you can see and hear the CMS 1201DC for the first time on Stand C7018 and in Demo Room N109.
