The manufacturer has announced the launch of Ruckus, a new line of outdoor rock speakers, writes David Davies. Replacing the Rox series, Ruckus is said to incorporate major upgrades in both sonic capability and appearance, including an “incredibly durable” UV and weather-resistant lacquer coating on top of a reinforced, colour-matched polyresin enclosure.

Comprising five models – each available in granite or sandstone finishes – the Ruckus series speakers are designed to blend into any landscape. Along with the standard coaxial driver complements in five, six or eight-inch versions, there is also a dual-tweeter model that plays both stereo channels from a single enclosure. A subwoofer with a dedicated amplifier to provide bass frequency support to the rest of the line is also available.

SpeakerCraft president Jeremy Burkhardt told IE Residential: “The Ruckus line of rock speakers is another example of listening carefully to the input from our dealers. They asked for both greater sonic performance and increased durability. Ruckus was designed from the ground up to deliver both. From the new driver and network components to the stone-like material that is colour matched to the exterior finish, I am confident these rocks will become standard fixtures in many landscapes throughout the UK and Europe.”
