NEC enjoys starring role at Munich museum

Divided into five historically ordered sections, ‘Typically Munich!’ deploys a host of innovative technology to provide a revealing portrayal of the city.

Munich City Council engaged NEC Display Solutions to provide high-performance projectors for the exhibition. The presence of concave wall surfaces led to the specification of seven NEC NP3150 projectors, which incorporate geometric correction functionality, housed in a covered platform. Four NEC VT700 projectors featuring XGA resolution were also installed across the exhibition site.

Stefanie Corinth, vice-president marketing & business development for NEC Display Solutions, told II: “This is the first time an installation projector solution was realised allowing projection onto curved surfaces by using the geometric 3D correction feature. With this project NEC Display Solutions set a benchmark for the European installation projector market and demonstrated a highly developed expertise in complex projection solutions.”

Robert Rickert from project installer Datavision Deutschland GmbH praised the quality and versatility of the NEC projectors, and acknowledged the assistance of the manufacturer itself during the tight turnaround time. “Particularly helpful in securing a successful project outcome within the required time-frame was the excellent co-operation of NEC Display Solutions. Especially with the installation in [multi-media area] the Loden Lounge, the manufacturer gave us extremely valuable know-how.”
