Legrand puts user in control with new Arteor 10-inch touchscreen

Legrand has made home automation simpler and more personal than ever before with the launch of its new Arteor 10-inch touchscreen.

Legrand has made home automation simpler and more personal than ever before with the launch of its new Arteor 10-inch touchscreen. A sleek and slimline wall-mounted unit that requires no separate surround, the new Arteor 10-inch touchscreen from Legrand combines navigation tools commonly used on iOS and Android devices, with internet access and customisable profiles to offer a simple-to-operate, flexible and personalised control screen.
Individual user profiles can be personalised with images, customised control settings and personal preferences including music playlists. The layout and task options have been designed to offer intuitive operation, just like a smartphone, enabling the end user to make their profile as complex or as simple as they want, making it suitable for everyone from the techno-savvy teenager to the technophobe.
With carousel and swipe navigation, the graphic interface on the LCD 16:9 screen makes it easy to operate the touchscreen by user, control function or room. The device also offers on-screen web browsing via the home’s WiFi connection and can multi-task, enabling the user to play music files and view images at the same time, for example.Providing a central hub from which to control all the home’s automated functions, including lighting, heating/cooling, AV, blinds and security, the new Arteor touchscreen can also be used to view the home’s door entry system and CCTV images. With integral USB, mini USB and SD card slots it enables the user to manage multimedia files too, which can also be managed using the LAN network or via the IP.
“We did extensive consumer research while developing the new touchscreen to find out what kind of functionality and usability features are most important to end users,” comments Richard Hayward from Legrand’s wiring devices business. “It was clear that customisation of a product is increasingly important, driven by trends in the handheld devices market. We took that on board and have made it simple for users to create their own profile with a look and functionality to suit them, making the whole home environment more adaptable to the preferences of the individual.” Designed to offer contemporary good looks along with intuitive operation and customisation, Legrand’s Arteor 10-inch touchscreen is available in a choice of black or white and its 24 mm deep flat screen profile makes it a stylish and discreet addition to any room.
