Olavshallen technical supervisor Henrik Torgersen (pictured) is a long-term Midas aficionado, having used an XL3 for the past 15 years. Recognising the need to go digital, Torgersen selected a 128-input/56-output XL8.
“After testing a lot of digital mixers I realised the XL8 was the console that could rise to the high standards of our venue,” he said. “The Olavshallen has a lot of external engineers working at the venue, and there is no time for training during each soundcheck, so it had to be a familiar surface.”
Torgersen has already put the desk to the test during a show with the TSO orchestra. “It was as if my loudspeakers had really come alive,” he remarked.
