The new Evolve range of media servers is designed to provide quick and instant access to content throughout the home. Designed by Passive Technologies MD David Simpson, the new Evolve selection is designed to make music, TV, audio, radio and photographic content available for enjoyment around a property.
Utilising up to 20TB of storage to preserve content, the Evolve range was designed and custom built in the UK. Providing full support for all next-generation media, such as TV on demand and internet radio, it offers true audiophile sound quality as well as support for all current forms of audio reproduction (including Studio Masters).
Possibilities with the new servers include the ability to record programmes while watching other channels or DVD content, and remote upgrading of all Evolve Firmware. Modular in nature, the products automatically back-up all content for protection and can also deliver material to the user’s content – wherever he/she may be.
The Evolve range also offers software that will allow users to turn an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Philips Pronto, or Crestron and AMX controllers into Evolve media server controllers.
The product range at launch comprises lifeStation, lifeStream (featuring an integrated audiophile amplifier), lifeStream Mini, lifeStore (with Enterprise grade storage of up to 20TB) and lifeControl (full iPhone, Philips Pronto, Crestron, AMX, RTI and BEO5 control integration). Available to order now with prices starting at £2,808 for single room media solutions, the Evolve range is said to provide the “complete package of media together with high-end home cinema performance and audiophile sound quality at surprisingly affordable price points”.
David Simpson, MD of Passive Technologies, told IE Residential: “Evolve’s European expansion will focus on delivering a class-leading, simple to remote control hi-fi experience where any and all entertainment media from Blu-ray, DVDs, CDs, TV, MP3s, cameras, camcorders, internet media, etc, can be displayed, stored and protected from a single, consistent 10ft interface.”
