CEDIA issues new White Paper: Selecting Display Size based on Room Size and Seating

Thanks to a new White Paper from CEDIA, architects can now get help when it comes to determining the ideal display size for multi-purpose areas based on room size and seating location.

Thanks to a new White Paper from CEDIA, architects can now get help when it comes to determining the ideal display size for multi-purpose areas based on room size and seating location. The purpose of the latest White Paper from CEDIA is to discuss recommended methodologies for determining the ideal display size for multi-purpose areas based on room size and seating location. The size of a display screen can determine the satisfaction level of a viewer’s experience and is dependent upon the viewer’s position and their distance from the display. The recommendations outlined in the document are for displays with 1080p resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The paper does not touch on display selection for a dedicated home cinema because that information was addressed in CEA/CEDIA-CEB23: Home Theatre Recommended Practices: Video Design, which is available from the resources section: http://www.cediaeducation.com/resources/whitepapers. The paper is available free of charge to CEDIA members, £5.99 to non-members. www.cedia.co.uk
