As a result of the recent fit-out, Kanbar Hall now features twin horizontal arrays, each comprised of two L-Acoustics ARCS enclosures flown above the left and right sides of the stage, accompanied by a single dV-SUB enclosure per side down on the deck. Power is provided by LA Series amplifiers.
The new equipment was reportedly specified in response to direct requests from a number of visiting artists and their crews. Performers to have made use of the new L-Acoustics configuration include singer Phoebe Snow and actress/singer/dancer Bebe Neuwirth.
“I’m still amazed at the near-field effect you get in the theatre environment,” commented Brandon Battaglia, Kanbar Hall’s assistant production manager. “At any seat in the house it sounds like the band is performing right in front of you – like a private performance.”
