Good things come in threes for L-Acoustics at ISE 2024

L-Acoustics sales manager, Peter Owen, spotlights the Xi Series coaxial speakers on the ISE show floor this week

For French audio specialist L-Acoustics, there is only one thing better than giving people the opportunity to experience the best in installation audio in person; and that’s giving them three opportunities to experience it.

With specialities encompassing live and broadcast production as well as fixed installations across a diverse range of venues, the French manufacturer also gives people the ability to take the concert sound home with them. Its range of concert-grade sound systems for the home meets the same industry reference standards as its professional range, while the adoption of rugged and marine-grade materials means they are also the perfect choice for yacht and superyacht installations.

That’s why, as well as announcing the expansion of its integration ecosystem at ISE 2024 in Barcelona, L-Acoustics is giving visitors three times as many chances to experience what makes it one of the world’s leading audio brands. With stands in Hall 2, Hall 7 and Hall 8, L-Acoustics is dedicating three distinct spaces to tell three different stories through sound.

Taking place Jan. 30 ─ Feb. 2, ISE is the world’s leading audiovisual and systems integration exhibition. Last year’s event saw more than 58,000 visitors through the turnstiles, and in 2024 the organisers are expecting the show to be bigger than ever.

L-Acoustics is following suit. Its stand in Hall 2 (#2G500) is dedicated to its home and yacht product lines and boasts a dedicated Listening Lounge which pushes the boundaries of spatial audio in the home with a dedicated 7.1.4 system. Powered by the LA7.16i amplified controller, the system features the X8 coaxial driver loudspeakers for left/centre/right, with surround and height channels using L-Acoustics’ X4i coaxial point source speakers, and low-frequency extension provided by L-Acoustics Syva Sub.

Meanwhile, its stand in Hall 7 (#7F150) is tailored to meet the needs of L-Acoustics’ professional customers and features the LC16D network converter and the new L Series with LA7.16i multi-channel amplified controller for install.

Finally, L-Acoustics’ dedicated audio demo room (B4) in Hall 8 is a destination point for a range of integration solutions that can enable traditional stereo projects through to immersive and beyond. The demo space gives the company many opportunities to highlight a variety of install-specific products including Soka, LA7.16i, L-ISA, Milan AVB and more. L-Acoustics staff will be on hand to discuss project requirements, third-party interoperability, and to give an insight into the company’s expanding ecosystem for the integration market.

While we are on the subject of expansion, L-Acoustics is expanding its X Series range of coaxial speakers at ISE with the launch of the Xi series. Designed to meet the demands of any integration project that requires powerful, quality sound in a discrete format, the new X8i and X6i point source passive loudspeakers will take centre stage at all three locations: Hall 2, Hall 7, and Hall 8.

The Xi Series’ compact design delivers a constant tonal balance over distance with smooth coverage for off-axis audiences. It eliminates the need for a minimum listening distance, and it provides high feedback rejection. The X8i and X6i both boast a 1.5in neodymium compression driver coaxially loaded by a 6in or 8in low-frequency transducer in a bass reflex cabinet, and the 90° axisymmetric directivity imparts a smooth tonal response which is free of secondary lobes over the entire frequency range.

Offering a range of installation-focused coaxial enclosures with distinct formats, bandwidth, SPL, and coverage angles tailored for short throw applications, the Xi Series delivers clear low-frequency power and wide directivity with consistent off-axis response. IP55 rated, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations and its discreet design means the Xi Series integrates elegantly into all kinds of venues, whether that is a restaurant, an art gallery, or an ocean-going superyacht!

“ISE 2024 is a strategic moment for L-Acoustics in Europe and a place for us to reinforce our dedication to the integration market,” says Scott Wakelin, Global Business Development Director at L-Acoustics. “Our growing integration ecosystem leverages the vast professional audio expertise of L-Acoustics, offering solutions to create immersive and engaging ‘live’ experiences in any permanent configuration. We look forward to discussing how we can help architects, specifiers, and integrators bring a fresh new approach to premium installation projects.”
