The announcement follows Midwich’s appointment as the exclusive UK distributor for InFocus commercial projectors in April. According to Pacific Media Associates (PMA), InFocus’s market share more than doubled in Q2, resulting in its best share in the last four quarters.
Under the new programme, resellers that register for Gold accreditation will receive a box bonus for every InFocus projector they sell. This bonus can be kept as retained profit or exchanged for demo units, marketing support or sales incentives.
In addition, resellers who commit to a minimum monthly target will be eligible to join the Platinum programme. Platinum partners will receive additional price and rebate benefits, along with exclusive deals.
Resellers joining the programme must also agree to only sell original InFocus lamps sourced via approved channels. The sale of compatible lamps such as Diamond lamps will not only invalidate the manufacturer’s projector warranty, it will also see the reseller removed from the programme.
In related news, InFocus recently introduced a five-year warranty and a one-year lamp warranty across its new range of commercial projectors. The only exception is the EP series, which has an unlimited three-year lamp warranty and can now be sold into any channel, not just education.
Looking to the future of InFocus commercial projectors in the UK, Midwich’s business manager for projectors, Stuart Mizon, told II: “We expect big things from InFocus. The new accreditation programme underpins our long-term commitment to the brand and represents an excellent opportunity for resellers to take advantage of many benefits and make significant margins by selling InFocus. In the past, InFocus has been overly reliant on the entry-level space, but this will change with the launch of new products such as in the IN5300 and IN5500. We will be working closely with InFocus to reposition the brand in the UK and we have already got off to a great start.”
Meanwhile, in other Midwich news, the company has been appointed as a UK distributor of Samsung visualisers and the sole UK distributor of Samsung professional plasma displays.
